For this piece, I experimented with some techniques I hadn’t used in a while, like glittering pointillism in the sky and city and creating thick, textured impasto trees with a palette knife. Most of my work tends to be flat and smooth, but I wanted to switch it up and play with texture.
I’ve been really into blue hour and the cool colors of winter, which inspired me to create something a bit more realistic than my usual stuff.
